And writing (cunifrom) and education. Hebrews: Semetic Nomads that spoke Hebrew. The Israelites were Hebrews that settled in Palestine around 1300, while following Moses according to scripture. They believed in one god (Monotheism) called Yahweh. The Jews are the people who trace their origins to the Hebrews. You should know about Hebrew culture and struggles with the Assyrians and Babylonians. Phoenicians: Another group of people known for trading and their alphabet.Indo-European: People who went from southern Russia, to India and then to Europe. Spread Very similar languages. Like English! They used horses, one of these groups was the Hittites. You should know the basics about this group. This Chapter looks at some of the first recorded civilizations and how they changed and grew over time.
